Mediation Services of Tippecanoe County (MSTC)   Helping People Solve Conflicts and Learn Dispute Resolution Skills

Peaceful conflict resolution is the goal of Mediation Services of Tippecanoe County which was founded in 1989 to offer alternative dispute resolution options. As our community has grown and diversified, so has the need for effective ways to resolve disputes fairly, cooperatively and nonviolently.

A private, non-profit organization, Mediation Services receives support from churches and other religious groups, businesses and individuals. We work in cooperation with the legal system, schools and many agencies and organizations.

Our programs teach productive listening and communication skills - valuable skills that allow people to solve problems and resolve conflicts.  These programs are not about winning or losing, but about growing and learning.

Conflict can be full of growth when it is resolved in a positive way. Our volunteer mediators help people communicate constructively. With such assistance, participants can resolve the conflicts that brought them to mediation, and learn valuable skills for dealing with future problems on their own.

We work with our schools, our courts, in neighborhoods and in churches, to teach values of peaceful conflict resolution and restorative justice.

Encouraged by community support, Mediation Services is working hard to make a difference in the Greater Lafayette area.
