In 1989, The Lafayette Church of the Brethren and the Lafayette Mennonite Fellowship established the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP) of Lafayette to promote healing and restorative justice between juvenile offenders and their victims. The name of the organization was changed to Mediation Services of Tippecanoe County, Inc. as new programs were added to facilitate non-violent conflict resolution with the community.
With the support of concerned individuals, faith communities, local businesses and foundations, Mediation Services has expanded to include community mediation, teen-parent mediation, family mediations, and conflict resolution workshops.
